David Chadwick
Mayor
David Chadwick

David Chadwick was elected the Mayor of Center in 2011 after serving as Mayor Pro-Tem and on the City Council for 25 years.  He was originally appointed to the City Council by then-mayor George Ihlo.  He graduated from Center High School and completed his degree from Baylor University.  He is married to Deborah Chadwick and they have two daughters, Caroline and Elizabeth.  He is currently the bank president of Farmers State Bank in Center.

Mayor Chadwick's community involvement includes participation in the Center Rotary Club, serving on the board of the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library, the Shelby County Historical Commission, the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, and the Panola College Foundation.  He and his family are also members of the First Baptist Church of Center.

Mayor Chadwick is proud of the Council's work on constructing the Windham Civic Center, reconstructing streets, working to keep strong employers in the community and building the new police station.  He would like to see the new balance in the retail mix in Center, and improving the medical facilities and overall quality of life for a growing community.
