Retirement
The City of Center participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System.
The City matches employee's contributions at a 2:1 ratio, where the employee contributes 7% of their pre-tax income. The City offers a vesting after 5 years of service.
Health Insurance
The City's health insurance provider is TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool.
The City pays 100% of the employee's insurance premium. The City does not contribute towards any dependent coverage. The City's current health insurance plan offers a $100 deductible and pays 70% of all in-network medical bills. There is a 90 day waiting period for new employees.
Dental Insurance
The City's dental insurance provider is AlwaysCare.
This coverage is optional for the employee and the City does not contribute towards the premium. The City does not contribute towards dependent coverage. There is a 90 day waiting period for new employees.
Vision Insurance
The City's vision insurance provider is AlwaysCare.
This coverage is optional for the employee and the City does not contribute towards the premium. The City does not contribute towards dependent coverage. There is a 90 day waiting period for new employees.
Supplemental Life Insurance
The City allows the employee the opportunity to purchase supplemental life insurance through TML at a discounted rate up to an amount three times their annual salary.
Pay Period
The City pays all employees bi-weekly, or 26 pay checks per year. The City also offers direct deposit services.
Holidays
The City offers all regular full-time employees 10 paid holidays per year. New Year's Day, MLK Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Vacation Days
City employees begin to accrue vacation days after six months of their hire date. Employees accrue one week of vacation time during their first year. This is increased to two weeks after the first year of employment.
Sick Days
City employees begin to accrue sick days immediately upon their hire date. After 90 days, employees are eligible to take sick days once they are built up. Employees accrue about one sick day per month.
