Planning and Zoning
The Center Planning and Inspection Department works with the Planning Commission, the Board of Adjustments and the City Council to coordinate the efficient and safe development of the City of Center. The staff in the Planning and Inspection Department are very knowledgeable and able to assist you in your needs.
The City of Center adopted its Zoning Ordinance in 2005. It adopted a Comprehensive Plan in 2004. The comprehensive plan includes a Land Use Plan which takes into account the existing uses of land inside of the city and projects how that land will be used in the future. This tool helps the city to make decisions to try to conform the regulation of land use to the best and highest use of land in the City.
