Water Utility System

The City of Center owns and operates two lakes, Mill Creek and Lake Pinkston, which provides the city’s water supply. Each lake has a water treatment plant. This ensures that the City of Center maintains a diverse water supply to meet the current needs of its businesses and residents, but will provide ample water supplies into the future.
The water in the water distribution system must be tested each day to ensure that the water quality exceeds state standards. Each month, water at the plant is sampled and sent for testing. And, each year the water plant undergoes a thorough inspection to ensure that the water is being treated properly. The water is also tested to ensure that the water pipes have adequate water pressure.
The City of Center Water Department is a team of employees dedicated to ensuring that the people of Center have an safe and adequate water supply. They are on call 24 hours a day to respond to any issue or emergency relating to the city’s water.
