The City of Center is approximately 30 miles northeast of Nacogdoches, Texas, and lies in the heart of the East Texas Haynesville Shale gas formation. Center is located about 10 miles from the scenic Toledo Bend and is the picture of East Texas beauty, sitting atop the rolling hills of green pine that define the region.
Did you know that the Haynesville Shale gas formation is one of the top producing gas fields in the United States and the world? The Haynesville Shale produces more gas than the Barnett Shale in Fort Worth.
From retail development to oil and gas extraction, Center is a city on the move. Rather than veer down the well-trodden city economic path, involving the purchase of land and subsequent construction of an industrial park, Center has elected to take a new direction. The Center Economic Development Corporation was formed to recruit new businesses to the city and expand existing business.
